Hi, just wanted to let everyone know about a new Her2 vaccine trial that has just started recruiting patients. It is in Seattle.

It is trial # NCT01355393

It is for stage 2 and 3 who have completed treatment and stage 4, who are NED or stable bone only.

Thank you for posting. I have been interested in vaccine trials for ages but never seem to find the right one or qualify! Will have a look at this one.

I spoke to them about the trial, and found out that if I decide to do it ( I am stage 4, and NED for 5 months) I will have to stop Herceptin and tykerb for 3 months, while I am getting the vaccine.

I am not sure what to do. I want to do the trial, but am nervous about stopping treatment for 3 months.

any opinions?

Just my $0.02, but it seems that your current regimen of Tykerb + Herceptin is working splendidly! if you are stage 4 and now NED, you can't ask for better response than that.

I would be reluctant to come off of a regimen that you know is working for one that you hope will work. Obviously, your doctors can give you the best advice, but I would think twice about coming off something that seems to be working so well.

I spoke with a women in Seattle about a month ago regarding a Phase 3 trial which I then learned had just closed to enrollment. She wanted instead to recruit me for the trial posted here which is a Phase 1-2 trial to determine vaccine dosage. There are 3 arms.

Thanks Joan I wondered if this trial was the one Steph had referred to earlier this year?
