I asked Hema's Onc if radiation will help with the mets in her spine. He informed us that it will have to be localised and can be done onley once and no repeat radiation is advisable. He said it is better to go on with Tykerb and Zoletrust(Zometa). What is the position of radiation therapy. Will be glad for some info,Thanks in advance

I believe he is correct about only radiating on the spine once, because of potential damage to the spinal cord and surrounding nerves... but I don't know for sure.
Here's a link to Sloan-Kettering in NYC. http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/83499.cfm
And this from Spine Universe http://www.spineuniverse.com/conditions/spinal-tumors/radiation-therapy-spinal-tumors
