Maybe this has already been addressed but here goes -

Is anyone taking I3C? It is an estrogen balancer. It reduces the bad estrogen. I take 400 mg per day.

Thanks for any input!

Using the 'Search' function returned this old thread:

A PubMed Search shows there are many new researches conducted on this supplement.

Thanks Jackie. There is a lot of good info on the web, but I was interested in knowing how many women here on this website are taking I3C or indole 3 carbinol and what response, if any, they experienced. I am taking this supplement rather than Tamoxifen which made me sick.

I took I3C for a year after my initial treatment in 2004, at the same time that I was taking Tamoxifen. I recurred in 2005. My Naturopath/Nutritionist who I have consulted with since recurrence told me to stop, and just get it through my diet/cruciferous vegs such as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, kale and brussels sprouts.

That's the extent of my experience.

you may want to look into DIM, a more bioavailable form of I-3-C

as well as calcium-d-glucarate, an excellent estrogen detoxifier, great for your liver.

Hi and thank you for your replies! Sorry I have not replied sooner. We have been busy moving and building another home.
I will find out about the calcium d glucarate. My bad estrogen is normal now but my DHEAS are a little higher at 8.0.

My naturopath said that DIM is just more expensive and that I3C does the same job?
