Can't really get any info until Monday except my lab results from the 24 hour urine "catch". My protein in Urine level is 324. The normal value is less than 150. The nurse practitioner said it's more than likely a s/e of Avastin. She said my creatin levels are normal and everything else is normal. Right now I'm feeling far from normal. I'd say I'm feeling HIGH normal !!!!!!!!!! towards PANIC and FEAR. Normal levels are more like this: ~~~~~~~ocean calm~~~~~~
Any opinions until ~~~~Monday~~~~?
Thanks.

Flori,
Seems to me it's a small fluctuation that could have been caused by anything:

I can understand your concern....I would feel exactly the same way, and then on a weekend.....but my guess is its from the Avastin....as it can cause problems with the kidney function...which is why they check the urine before we get Avastin...also, kidney infection, and urine problems associated with pre diabetes can cause a fluctuation...think healthy until Monday...do they plan to recheck? Maybe being off the Avastin will bring things back into the normal range.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for good results and normal test results!

Well, it's 6:20pm. No call from Doc yet. Left her a message already. Emailed nurse as well. Waiting sucks. I am sure it's from Avastin - reading s/e info says damage is permanent. But - really? Funny how a number can induce stress...

Hej Flori,
We just went through the waiting game as well. Yes, funny how some words or numbers can tell us in a tail-spin. Stay on that office today so they'll give you peace of mind. Hang in there.

Finally spoke with my doc. There is nothing to do except stop the Avastin until my kidney function returns to normal. Will they heal? Well, no one wants to say yes or no on that so only time will tell. For now, happy to be on ONLY Vitamin H...have energy back, can eat healthier - fruits and veges and will just focus on the fact that I feel fine and my markers are low.
Next month I'll deal with scanxiety and all the toppings.

Flori,
Regarding Tykerb, you may try to take it first thing in the morning, and then wait an hour or more to eat your breakfast. It has worked for me.
Regarding your problem with Avastin, I too had tremendous problems with it [I was taking it with Abraxane a few tratments ago...]. I went to a good nephrologyst, and he was able to get my kidneys functioning well again. I hope this helps you. Angela
