Thanks for posting. It feels really difficult to live healthy on a sick planet! Moreover it's hard to know sometimes if and when in your life you are exposed to these numerous carcinogens.

Hi Ellie-

Ellie,

You said that very well---

"It feels really difficult to live healthy on a sick planet!"

I think that the first thing it takes is being aware that we are living on a sick planet--and yest you are right many of us were exposed to these toxins when we were younger--in the 50's-60's ---

A great read is Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring"--Rachel Carsons book ignited the environmental movement and was responsible for having DDT banned in this country--please note that it is legal in other countries--

No coincidence she had breast cancer while writing it---early 60's--her foundation has some great info on their website--

Just received the following from AndiBB, a long-term Her2 survivor who has contributed many inspiring postings. It has something to do with the environment, so I'm posting it here:

EXCELLENT IDEA!!!

Plastic Bottle Caps -- Re-Use Them!

The guy who first thought of the idea must be given an award for imagination and originality !!!

Wow, what a fantastic idea!
Don't have to grapple with rubber bands, spring clips or twist ties.

How to seal a bag and make it air-tight!

Cut up a disposable water (or similar) bottle
and keep the neck and top, as in photos below.

Insert the plastic bag through the neck and
screw the top – to seal.

The bottle is made to be air-tight, such that
water will not leak, the secret lies with the
top and screw!

This is a great idea to share. Good for us and the environment too.

And don't forget to recycle the bottom of the water bottle!
