This does not surprise me at all. I take a daily bisphosphonate and it can cause heartburn. I am trying to finish out the trial, but may not be able due to the irritation. We shall see.

horrible disease. so deadly. by the time you have any sign something is wrong (like difficulty swallowing) it's often already stage 4. my husband bob gagged over dinner in july 2006. it got worse in the following few months and by the time he agreed to go to the doctor on halloween, he already had 3 tumors in his liver, one 6 cm in size. radiation made him hoarse, he had a stent installed to help him swallow, he could not eat, chemo didn't help at all, and he died within 10 weeks of diagnosis. i did not realize michael douglas' cancer is also esophageal. if so, i do not expect he will be with us much longer. it also killed the kardashians' father only 8 weeks after his diagnosis. we didn't even have time to truly wrap our minds around the diagnosis. what a vicious killer. valerie
