I saw the oncologist today, have been changed from taxotere/herceptin to tyverb/xeloda because skin mets were increasing big time. The doctor thinks I may have a blocked lymph node because my remaining breast is swollen, a bit hard to the touch and I have very stiff feeling there and under my arms. So I will get a CT scan. Anyone had this problem? I still cannot have herceptin because my echo today showed heart function improving but still 5% less than they would like. Am a bit fed up tonight, opened a bottle of red wine - might feel better soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Delaney,
I am really sorry you are having to deal with all this. I know you mentioned that you cannot have herceptin because your heart function is less that 5% than they would like - I have read other's posts where they mention taking CO Enzyme Q10 to raise their MUGA level and keep it up - have you talked with your doctor about this?
I am sending prayers and hugs your way.
Love,
Carolyn

Delaney,
No advice but sending you huge prayers and hugs. I am sure you are fed up...who wouldn't be. This disease SUCKS! How was that wine? Delicious and therapeutic, I hope!!
You are in my thoughts!

Hi Delaney,
No advice here either but the wine sounds a good idea to help you relax:)

Thanks all, am tolerating tyverb/xeloda quite well, getting the hot hands and feet now, have always had cold hands so makes a change for me. Maureen, the wine was gorgeous! , but no more for me now, afraid to mix it with these drugs. Just hope they work, otherwise am in big trouble.

Delaney, I've heard some of the ladies on xeloda mention a cream for the hand/foot syndrome, try the search feature for tips, I think it was called Udderly smooth or something like that but they said it helps to moisturise a lot:)

Thanks Tricia, googled it, seems only on sale in USA and Canada but will check into it more. Wont forget it with that very distinctive name anyway. Thanks, Helen.
