I talked to Sheila about 10 days ago. She is doing okay. She is still extremely busy with her parents. Her mother, who is a 20+ year bc survivor was diagnosed with liver cancer (not bc mets) a short while ago. She is elderly and did not do well on treatment so that has been stopped and she is doing poorly.
I am sure Sheila will check in soon.

Thanks Rina for asking...I do check in here every day but havent posted in a while...my Mom has consumed alot of my time, she was taken off the chemo as she was so sick. She just got 2 units of blood, which brought her up to a 9.3....not so good. She is now on an ant-depressant, aka Happy Pilll so she isnt crying al the time...we are trying to keep her in good spirits and somewhat positive in the scope of things as long as we can.
I know she is worried about me...I have had 4 echos in the past 2 months...I have become so short of breath and tired ...the pericardial effusion seems to be one main culprit, and the last echo showed over a quart of fluid around my heart and increasing....alot of back and forth between my NEW oncologist and the cardiologist as to the cause and solution....I dont feel i am getting anywhere with the Avastin, she keeps saying it is very synergistic with Herceptin....big deal if it isnt working for me. So now a new CT and another echo and then plans to drain the fluid, which requires a thoracic surgeon and a stint in the hospital....also talk of possibly trying to remove? some of the nodes wrapped around the pulmonary artery.
I have never slept this much in my life ...need to start checking my self for bedsores! My husband is worried as i dont have any interest in shopping anymore...must be why the economy is doing bad!
Seems my life revolves around Dr appts at this point.
Maybe a lunch at the Cheesecake Factory is in order...after you recover from shoulder surgery!
