Help . . I have just developed an ugly rash on my face and neck. I will have my 3rd chemo treatment May 7th. I am on the chemo drugs Docetaxel and Carboplatin and also taking Herceptin weekly. I have been so happy not to be sick from the drugs, only more tired than usual. Now out of the blue comes this ugly mess on my face.
I do have information that pimples without pus could be caused from low white blood counts; but my counts were within normal range last week, only my platelets a little low.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Herceptin can cause an acne type rash. I get it on my face a week after every infusion.

Hi Ladies -
Welcome to HER2 forums.
Many here have had rashes appear. Mostly we could count on Taxotere and Tykerb to be the main culprits, but occasionally another drug can give this appearance.
I did not have the exact combo you are taking, but did have Taxotere, which gave me the characteristic light rash and blush on the second or third day.
Herceptin is another matter. I took that for about 8 years and never had anything close to a rash from that.
We have a VERY long thread here called Herceptin Side Effects, Real or Perceived. You might read through that and see what the posters have to say.

Hi
I got a red angry rash on my face, neck and arms from taxotere which resembled bad sunburn.I have had no rash since just being on herceptin.

The T zone on my face turned red for a few days after Taxol. I looked like I had sunburn.

Yes-I had this--probably the Taxotere.

I developed a red rash all over my hands, and just a little on my face when I was on Tyverb. Was prescribed a steroid cream - made no difference. Then another doctor told me to try Aveeno (you can get it everywhere, over the counter). It cleared up quickly.
