Has anyone been treated with CMF and herceptin? I had severe reactions to TCH and was switched to CMF. Don't know anyone who is on this now. It used to be used quite often, but not anymore. Just wish I knew someone who had it with a good outcome.

Hi curryalso. I write to the group because my sis was diagnosed as HER2 positive last March, however I am also a breast cancer survivor of twenty six years. HER2 wasn't tested for then, so I don't know my HER status, but I'm guessing I was not positive. I received a year of CMF chemo on a three week cycle, after a month of weekly treatments. My cancer was at least stage two, as I had nodes affected and a rather large tumor. I had a mastectomy, followed by the chemo. I remain vigilant about breast health, but have been NED since my surgery and treatment. I hope that you have good result with this regimen---it has certainly served me well! Perhaps a HER2 sister who has received this chemo will check in. Wishing you the very best!

Dear Curry

You should privately message Juanita. She had CMF with Herceptin and she is over 5 yrs out and doing great.

More on the C part here:
http://her2support.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=43357

A lot of the metronomic studies (http://her2support.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=24729&highlight=antimitotic) are done with oral Cyclophoshamide (C). Some combine it with Capecitabine (an oral version of F).

Thanks for responding. I'm glad to hear someone had good results.
So few people are on CMF so it's hard to talk to anyone. I appreciate your response I'm on a 3 week cycle with Herceptin. Hoping for the best.

hey just saw this thread. not on as much as i used to be. i did 6 treatments of cmf and then a year of herceptin because that was when it was finally released to everyone. i tolerated the cmf very well. had just a little nausea with the last treatment. in september i marked my 5 yr cancerversary. if you have any questions ask away! i'll be glad to answer them for you.

Hi, Thanks for answering. I had a mastectomy in July and restructure at the same time. I started on TCH but had an allergic reaction. I'm now on CMF C (orally) and i seem to be tolerating it well.

Herceptin will be for one year I also am ER/PR - and her2+.

Was just a little scared that this was not an effective treatment and that the TCH was better. I actually feel pretty good and was thinking that the chemo could not be working if I felt pretty good.

Just looking for some positives, and thank you for letting me know that you are celebrating 5 yrs. I was 64 when I was diagnosed.
