Thanks for posting. Strange that there is no mention of our site as a donation choice.

Another reminder that if we want donations to go to Her2Support, we need to let family members know ahead of time. Mine is written down, and I remind my husband and children often that IF something happens to me, in lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to Her2support...and the address of where they should be sent. In that way, I feel I can continue to give to others who may come to this site after me.

Thanks for posting the link, Sheila.

I am very glad they mentioned Joy's beloved Luca in the obit. Remember when she met him and was so enchanted, but afraid to love someone or get involved because of her continuing cancer problems? My heart is relieved that he was there until the end for her and her children.

Ruth,
My heart is aching too. Like Steph, I am so glad that Joy's Luca was mentioned in the obit. In fact, I thought the obit did a wonderful job of including close friends and family members that had been a part of Joy's life (at different times). It is hard for me to imagine not seeing Joy's words posted again. She was very inspiring and so funny and sweet.

We will accept Memorial Donations at any time. Three years ago a member named Shell passed away and chose us to send donations in her memory. The response was overwhelming.

We gathered all donations and started The Ann-Michelle Higgens Scholarship Fund. The purpose of this fund is to sponsor 2 advocates to participate in the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation's Advocate Program held in conjunction with the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. Advocate Program (http://www.alamobreastcancer.org/advocate_program.html) . We will continue this program until the funds are depleted.

Dear Becky:

Please keep in mind that Joy was so sick she was unable to post.

I'm sure the last thing in her mind, before she was unable to do anything was our site.

We'd have love to have donations sent to us, sometime it's not feasible.

Take care,

Adriana

It makes me so angry at this horrible desease that such lovely people are lost to it and other made to be anxious. Joy had welcomed me to the board and sent me a personal message the first time I posted she had a huge heart, and was so supportive. May you you at peace, your legacy will live on.
