A friend of mine that works at Genentech told me that they just had a private screening of their new movie on HER-2 for the employees. This new movie is supposedly Genentech's side of the story on the development of Herceptin. Apparently, they were not that excited on the heavy emphasis on Dr. Slamon on the Living Proof movie.

I asked her about release dates for the general public, but she didn't know.

Joe/Christine, would there be a way to somehow get this movie out to us first? I'll ask my friend if she can point out someone at Genentech that I can talk to arrange a screening for HER-2+ patients on this site. Any ideas?

Thanks!

At the AACR annual meeting in San Diego in 2008 the lifetime achievement honoree was Dr. Allan Ullrich, formerly of Genentech, now with the Max Planck Institute, whom most of the cancer researchers seemed to give credit to for the "invention of herceptin" , rather than Dr. Slamon.

His speech intimated that he thought her3 would end up being the key to treating her2+ breast cancer.
