Volunteering Today

My daughter participated in a community outreach, to find and tell the homeless that there will be a dinner for them today, a thanksgiving feast.

The program sponsoring asked for parents helping hand. Well, that's me, today I will cook and serve to the homeless.

It's a part of me, that feels like I am here and giving back, forgetting my troubles for the day and helping other's in need.

I'm not saying this is therepy for all, but for me, it helps me find some strength within and being completely thankful.

That was so wonderful of you, Margie. We have a homeless shelter in town and the name is Martha's kitchen. Several months ago the city was going to shut it down for violation of building code. After receiving many negative reactions from different groups, the city allowed the kitchen to continue its service. The incident did help some of the homeless get to be relocated to other facilities (such as the VA)that they qualify to stay.
