Rib Update

I saw a doctor this morning and he thinks that this has NOTHING to
do with cancer. He also doesn't think I broke a rib because it didn't
hurt enough when he pressed on them. He thinks the pain is coming
from a strained muscle from mega coughing. He doesn't want to x-ray right now for two reasons ... 1) doesn't want radiation to the cancer "area" and
2) there would be no specific treatment if a rib is broken.

He told me to put ice on the area, take advil or some kind of anti-
inflammatory and to come back in a week if there is no improvement.

Pink, well that is a start anyway.....glad to hear that the Dr thinks its muscle....hope a week makes it better....maybe with the NSAIDS, and alternating heat and ice, you will be back "in the pink"

Great news, PinkGirl! I will continue to pray that your pain goes away. I too think it is due to the cold/flu you had since I have had a previous experience exactly like yours.

Pink, thanks for the update and I too, have had pain from constant coughing in the rib area in the past.
If you're still concerned mention it to the onc next time you see him but it sounds good to me:)

Great news! I've been a rib sufferer too. Mine did turn out to be broken ribs. However, I still have rib soreness and pain (if I go off Neurotin) in the radiated area.

I still have rib pain four years after diagnosis. It seems to be a common side effect of our treatment. Stay healthy -- and vigilant.

Ah, the elusive bunny bowl...promised so many times, but nothing ever came of it. Lee will never give it up. Chris is better off with a cupcake and a can of spray cheese on the side.

I know how you can make your own deformed bunny bowl ...
according to Lee etc., you put some noodles in it and put
it in the microwave without the water ... he said his little girl
did it but who knows ... I'm just saying ... you can't believe
half of what that guy says ...
