Hi All,

Thank you so much for all of your kind words, best wishes, hopes and prayers. I have been quiet for a while and I wanted to give you an update.

I just had my third treatment on Friday. Yes, travelling back and forth to Detroit has been tough. The treatment hit me harder than I expected on the first and second dose (three weeks apart). My third dose was Friday and I am doing much better, just tired. I take a friend along for each treatment for support. I have continued to work full time except that I must take off Fridays. I leave for Detroit after work on Thursday and get in at about 11:30 PM. I am at the hospital by 7:30 AM on treatment days (11AM other days). I arrive home at Midnight on Friday. Despite the challenges that you all helped me push through (and there were MANY), it has been well worth it and I consider myself blessed.

I will have scans in a few more weeks but I can tell you that my CA 15-3 and CEA are both going down after rising rapidly. The lump on my neck and chest are down by half. I do not know what the scans will show but (as usual) I am hopeful and scared at the same time.

Other good news is that I get to transfer to my home cancer center for the 4th dose to continue treatment. No more travel for treatment.

Thanks to all of my her2 friends for your support. I wouldn't even know that it was possible to do this without you. Thanks for giving me the strength, knowledge and support to get to this point. I could not learn these lessons anywhere else.

Joe and Christine - Thank you a million times for this site.

Love, Hope, Peace, Carolyn

Great news, Carolyn! Wonderful that you can do the 4th dose onward at your home infusion center! How good is that?

Praying for significantly improved scans!

Carolyn sounds like wonderful news. I'm so glad that you won't have to travel for your 4th dose, that alone should help with some of your fatigue. Prayers continue.

Carolyn, That is just wonderful news! You are one tough woman to travel back and forth like that...AND even continue to work while doing that. You amaze me! Its fantastic it's already showing such good results. Being able to continue on the study so close to home will be so much easier on you...maybe you can sneak in some extra sleep now. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for continued good results and clean scans.
