Does the flu shot contain a cancer agent? I was told it contains Mercury. Can someone help me locate the ingredients of the flu shot. I am considering the regular flu shot but am concerned about adding more chemicals into already stressed system. Thanks

Tami I heard this rumor of the H1N1 Flu Shot and I am wondering if is true as well. I hope maybe some one knows the answer.

I heard the same thing Yorkie (Vickie) did. That the H1N1 has a small amount of mercury in it...in fact they said they have been giving vaccines that way for years safely. But the doctor I was listening to on TV was discussing the topic of the H1N1 vaccine mainly. He did however mention that they were concerned lots of people...especially pregnant woman would not get this shot due to the risk of the mercury and the autism connection.

He did say due to this there is going to be "two" types of vaccines made for the H1N1...and one will be made without the mercury.

Now I don't know if the regular flu shot has trace amounts of mecury, good question? I hope not...I already had mine this year. They talked me into the day I had my Herceptin/Zometa infusion. I bet someone here will have the answer.

Tami, I just did a search and here is what I found from the "CDC". There is mercury (Thimerosal) in the flu vaccine.

Another CDC flu page says that there are single-dose h1n1 vaccines that do not contain thimerosal. Also, the nasal spray kind does not have thimerosal. So if you want the vaccine but mercury-scares are stopping you, it makes sense to ask for the single-dose or nasal one.

A note of caution -- mercury or not, those with underlying conditions such as asthma are recommended to avoid the nasal spray.
