Update on Joy 9/4

Hi everyone, it's Jennifer, Joy's sister. Thank you all for thinking and praying for her. She just had her 5th round of Ixempra yesterday. She is still having a lot of neuropathy. She's now on 100 micrograms of phentanol (sp?) Her weight is still really low in the 90's so her onc prescribed liquid megace to try to stimulate her appetite. Today she was so nauseous she took half an ativan and was totally knocked out, she couldn't even complete a sentence. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Thanks again for everything. There are parades of people wanting to express their care for Joy. She is such a popular and loving person. I wish her getting more strength in the coming days. Smuggle in some of her favorite food and whip up her appetite. Good nutrition is the cornerstone for recovery.

Dear Jen,
We all know the anxiety and unsettled worries that come with weight loss, neuropathy and all the ugliness that accompanies treatment. We all wish fervently for relief. It is so terribly hard to help ourselves when we feel like crap! Please tell Joy this is her time to rest in the arms of our prayers for her. We look forward to her posts after she is done with this round of chemo, eating twinkies and turning a corner.
