August 30, 2005 I had surgery removing my right breast and cancerous lymph nodes. I had such a horrible prognosis.
But, here I am! Four years later and overall feeling well. I am so very grateful for Herceptin and the wonderful ladies that were so brave to participate in its beginnings. Also, I am very grateful to Christine and Joe for creating a place for us her2+ folks to share.
I hope that I can provide hope for those who are newly diagnosed and unfortunately those yet to come. There truly is hope!
Hugs and Prayers to my her2 family.

Hi Lexi, BIG Congratulations on being 4 years out and NED. :) Its great that you stick around to share your story so that the newly dx that come along see that there is hope. There are so many newly dx that have onc that are all doom and gloom...just like my onc was. But when I ran across this board and found posts like yours...I finally felt like I could breathe a little bit.
So again...thanks for sharing...and I truly hope you go out and celebrate...do something nice for yourself. Then look forward to endless yrs of NED.
Big Hug coming your way!

Yahoo! Good for you! Congrats! And thanks for sharing - we all need positive stories!
I am curious - are you on any special diet, or have you changed your diet? Or done anything else holistically that you might say has helped???
Thanks - Karen

Thank you sweet sisters for all your encouraging words. I am so grateful that I am doing okay and shudder to think where we may be without herceptin or tykerb and the other medicines that are helping all of us battle bc. I really am hopeful that there will continue to be more txs to help us live with this disease.
Really grateful that I have all of you to go through this with me. I don't know what I'd have done without you.
With tears and a VERY grateful heart,
Lexi

You reminded me that I am happy to join you as a member of the 4 year club. Although our treatment procedures were very different, the ultimate result of NED at this important 4 year mark is a very wonderful gift from our guardians, friends and nice people like all of you.

Hi Lexi,
Congratulations on reaching this happy milestone! You were one of the first I spoke with when I first posted after dx. I remember how important it was for me to read your words of encouragement and to gain strength and courage from them. Together we are stronger and smarter and that is what this site is all about! I have really appreciated all my loving, giving sisters here and I hope to join you as an encouraging voice to others newly dxd someday. I'm only 5 months post dx and fighting this fight but I'm hanging in there and I WILL reach the 4 year mark and beyond with all of you!!
Love, Leslie
