I saw my new primary Care Doctor today and I just love her to pieces.

I found out something rather interesting. Ever since going thru Chemo my Good Cholesterol level (HDL, the good cholesterol) has been real low, the rest of it is OK. I know that having a low number in that reading is bad.

What I found out was, that having little to no estrogen in my system can cause this.

Has any one had this problem? I'm doing every thing right and it's still low. Any suggestions?

Exercise increases it as does red wine. Omega 3 increase it. No smoking (decreases it).

Hard exercise is best.

mine is low too, though i don't know what it was before chemo. i've been on 4 different meds trying to change it but with no luck. so now they think it's just genetics. but i will bring up the no estrogen at my next appointment.

I do eat right, I do excerise. I don't drink, so the the Red Wine is out. I have incorported the Omega 3 in the diet. Just not sure what to do. HMM maybe more excerise.
