We are one of the few bc organizations who do not actively solicit donations from our members nor does our homepage resemble EBAY, with all kinds of things for sale.

Over the years many members have donated money to our website and we are greatly appreciative of them. Again we do not follow up and look for subsequent donations.

Due to the economy, we expect receiving fewer grant dollars next year. I have been approached recently from several oraganizations requesting me to host surveys on our boards. As you all well know, we are open to any research or studies that may benefit our members.
I have consented to some of them with the condition that if their is compensation, they can either receive the money or donate it to the HER2 Support Group. I feel this is a painless way of supporting our efforts.

Also any "Memorial" donations will go into a special fund to provide scholarships for patient-advocates to attend the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation's program.

Warmest Regards
Joe

Joe, I want you to know I am still working to get Rose's foundation off the ground amongst the craziness of my life. I have not forgot Her2 Support and have started to get things together to help our family. If the goals you spoke of before have changed please let me know what my new focuses should be aiming for. I am moving forward in both causes right now. Hey, what better a way to exert my energy??>>Believe51

Thanks for the update, Joe. Fund raising in and of itself can be a full time job - offering surveys is a painless way to raise funds - participating is optional and as you say it may help our members.

I think it is important that if people want any memorial monies to go to her2Support, they make sure their family members know or it is in their will...dont assume it will happen if you dont say so!!!!!!
I feel it is the least one can do for all that this site has given to me!
