This news is devastating...I have followed Esther's adventures since she joined this board...so full of life and such a bright shining spirit. Yet another blazing angel looking down on all of us.....this disease has robbed all of us of another great fighter....my deepest sympathy to her family...With Love and Tears

I will miss her beautiful smiling face and caring posts. She has fought for all of us. I hope her family can find comfort in knowing she is at peace and free from pain. Yes, Sheila we have another shining angel watching over us.

My deepest sympathy to all her family and friends.

This news just seems so incomprehensible to me. Esther was so strong and I always felt she had many more years ahead of her. She was inspiring, courageous, and so willing to share her stories. She provided me with hope, and convinced me of the importance of staying fit. She refused to allow her diagnoses to get in the way of what she was determined to do.
I offer my sincere condolences to her family.

So sorry to read this. She was always so upbeat. This seemed to have happened so quickly. Thank you for letting us know Darlene. Too many special people taken too early by this disease. She will be missed.

This is almost unbelievable. I know Steph reported that Esther was not doing well but even that was unbelievable. She was doing well. At least she taught us to live life to the fullest and she did just that.

I am sorry and saddened for her and her family.

Esther was another brave and sweet soul who is now an angel. She touched so many lives in her short time here on Earth, making each one richer, fuller, and so full of wonderful life. My prayers go out to her loved ones tonight. Her spirit will live on in all those who knew her. I will miss her deeply.
Love,
Vickie

I remember the early days post-diagnosis when I would see Esther's posts from this beach or that mountain and I would think that if she can do all that with breast cancer, then I can make it through this! She made me look to the future and be ready to take on bigger and tougher challenges than my lil ole breast cancer tumor. Between her adventures and SandyH and her edgy shoes, they really brightened my days. Thank you Esther! Love and prayers to your family, who will undoubtedly miss your presence so very much.

The ultimate compliment is to have others say that you were an inspiration. That is what Esther was!!! I can't thank her enough for serving this site as an inspiration to continue to take life head on, remaining active and pushing cancer to the background.

Esther...thank you for taking the time to share your adventures and giving us the courage to live life more fully. I will miss you.

I will miss Esther, and I will never ever forget her. Even though she has passed, I feel like she was never defeated by this disease. She was so alive...and will always be so in my memory.

I am just sick at heart to hear of Esther's passing - she is a wise spirit full of adventure - one who will be sorely missed - some times it seems sickening and unjust when a person who is so present to others can just pass on in what seems like a blink. God speed Esther.

I was so devastated by Esther's passing, felt really, really sad, hurt, mad. Then I remembered how she never let it get the best of her and she kept on living life. Thought I'd repost one of my favorite of her posts. I believe this was posted within the last year...she truly lived the concept of joie de vivre!

From Esther:

Stage 4 and still living life!!!
I thought you might like to see a couple of pictures from our extreme jungle adventure in Puerto Vallarta a couple of weeks ago. Remember this is me 5 years into stage 4 B.C. with mets to bones, liver and brain.

The first picture is me rappeling 120 ft down a waterfall, the second we were crossing a river on a wire.

Dear Terri -
Thanks for the photos. I think that is how Esther wanted to be remembered. She was not "here" on her down days. She was gathering strength for her future plans. Her way was to rather share joy with the group.

Rendi - no one seems to have posted anything on a memorial or service for Esther. Would not surprise me if she wanted her ashes cast somewhere she loved in nature. Check your local papers?

When I read the news on Esther's passing my heart just sank. Esther was a very special lady and was such a big part of this board.
She did amaze me as she knew how to live and take advantage of each and every day. All her trips & wild adventures...thinking of that makes me smile...but then still so sad that's she is gone. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten...forever in my heart she will be. God bless you Esther...you will be missed. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family
