I remember reading this book when it came out and thought that she was amazing. I didn't know she had a recurrance. I am sorry that she had to earn her wings, but sounds like she was able to spend the last part of her life with a loving husband.

sad. I saw a documentary about her fairly recently. What an amazing woman! I, too, did not know that she had a recurrence.
