Hi, thank you for thinking of my sister. I know she really appreciates it, as do I. She was released from the hospital on Friday night. Her pain is being managed with a Phentenol patch and Dilaudid as needed. She is still having major constipation problems and she has taken everything possible. Everyday she has a little more strengh. She was able to get Herceptin on Tuesday. And Ixempra should be next week. She saw the NP on Tuesday and she felt her liver was smaller and the treament, although very toxic, is working.

On a lighter note, her boyfriend gave her a ring on Tuesday night so she is officially engaged!

I'm hoping the next round of Ixempra will go better! I will let you all know how it's going. Thanks again to everyone for your help and thoughts! Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer......I, too, am always thinking of and praying for Joy. I come here often looking to see if you posted....so thank you for updating us.

Tell Joy I said hello, please AND please give her a congratulations hug for me on her ring. How awesome is that. It sounds as if they each found a "winner" when those 2 found each other.

God's Peace surround you all Jennifer.....

My love and prayers to you...

Joy,

I am so pleased that things are going so much better for you!!

Fantastic news about your engagement. I believe via earlier posts your Her2 - sisters gave the seal of approval on the new man in your life. Turns out he's a keeper.

Thinking of you and wishing you and your family all the best.

Hi Jen!
Hip hip hooray! I am thrilled to hear that Joy and her new man are now "official" - life is so good when you have someone to share both the ups and the downs with!
I hope she is able to get her arms around the constipation problem soon - that can put a serious crimp in your style - I hope the doctors are helping her out with that - if they are not, they should!
Thank you for keeping us posted; tell Joy, you know; we all worry about her - all us Her2 mother hens -
Love Kim from CT

Hi, Jennifer,
Thank you so much for the good news. It is great to know that Ixempra is working for Joy too. I have been praying for her daily. I hope she will find the right medication for her constipation problem. I have had mild diahrrea and mild constipation with Ixempra. It is a rough drug, but it gives great results.
Congratulations to Joy on her engagement. What a beautiful surprise.
God bless you all.

What a beautiful update besides the constipation problems. I am glad to see her pain is controlled better, it is a tough thing to get under control once it has taken over.

As for the ring and the engagement, I am telling you that I got the chills reading that. Joy deserves all the happiness she exudes on others. I am simply thrilled to hear of their engagement and will toast her with a latte from my new high tech expresso maker! Love to you both. And Jennifer, thanks again for being such a great sister to Joy. We know you have your hands full and you still seem to find a moment to keep us updated.>>Believe51

Congratulations!

"I just love 'good news'!" Happiness (Joy) increases the release of endorphin which increases our immune system which cures cancer...

Happy engagement!
