Well,I've now completed my adjuvent chemotherapy as detailed in my profile. Is their a prescribed regimen of follow up care? After a year of herceptin, and six infusions of taxotere and carboplatin what type of follow care is the norm? How often should I have mammograms, scans, ultrasounds etc. How often should I see my oncologist?
Any assistance is very much apprecited. Thanks.
Good luck to all in our "special" fraternity.
Best wishes,
Brenda

I have 3 month follow up's with complete blood work until 5 years out, then it goes to once a year for 2 years I beleive (for me that is) Every Doctor is different in what they do.
I have been having scans once a year.

I started out seeing my onc at 3 months post treatment, then they scheduled the next one for 4 months, then 6. I had a ct scan at that last appointment, but I had to request it. Then they didn't schedule me at all and I had to call and ask for an appointment at 6 months out.
I ended up canceling that appointment and re-scheduling with my new onc a month later, so I'll have to see how she schedules.
I had a mammo at 6 months and another 6, then they said 1 year.
I did have a pet/ct at one year after dx, but I was still "in treatment" on Herceptin.
Now I'm scheduled for a new pet/ct.
