As you can see, Ed has been suffering with brain mets since 6/2007. We were proactive with the brain since the very beginning. All mets ever discovered were under 9mm. He did have a met in the brain's sleep center which did interfere with REM sleep. Even with that met we did not notice the sleep disturbances until the GammaMan told us where it was. Then and only then did it all made sense.

I guess it really matters where and how big they are. By the way, after Whole Brain Radiation and two Gamma Knives his brain is clear at the moment. I am interested to hear from other family members about their mets.>>Believe51

Thanks Jean for the quick info. Hopefully they're wrong about so many of us getting them.
Also glad to hear Ed's doing better.
stay well

Hi Sarah -
I had NO symptoms whatsoever. Even with a tumor as large as 3 cm in my cerebellum. Everyone tought I should hve balance and nausea problems at that stage - but I didn't.
The second spot was smaller at 5 mm and in my superior vermis in another part of my brain. I noticed nothing there either, but that did not seem surprising to my oncologists.

So, I guess it seems to depend on the location of the tumors and the size whether a person will have symptoms. I recall Esther feeling something as small as a grain of rice - but it had to do with the location.
