Update:

The Chicago brain doctor called me late this afternoon after reviewing all my records and MRI's etc. He hoped to verbally be able to tell me if there was something that could be done down here.

However, the call was MUCH different. The hospital that assured me that everything up to date in the package they gave me that I sent ahead, was missing the post surgery note from the brain surgeon and the most recent (Feb) MRI....so I have to call there tomorrow and ask them to ship it to arrive on Thursday morning and he will review it immediately upon arrival.

I cannot help but feel anger and frustration...at the hosptial. I have no control over it - nor do you - just wanted you to know why I continue to feel anger, fear, etc. yet still I continue to keep going on my fight and hope which returns eventually or I wouldn't be trying!

Just wanted to share this with people who would understand perhaps. My children continue to be wonderful, patient and supportive and I have no idea how I could cope with this without them!

Of course this site and the people on it are a great diversion as I think of others instead of myself (which is positive).

Once again tonight I have to tell all of you thanks again!

Dear Jones 7676, I too feel anger and frustration in human error. When I went to pick up my sleeve from the PT someone had ordered the wrong one so I had to fly to my Dr. appt with out it. Now my fingers and hand are swollen. I have been thinking through human error so I can have some peace about this.

I come up with a lot, mostly about how humans are warm and feeling and robots are cold and non feeling, therefore, humans are preferred. It's kind of funny when I see it in writing.

Try to relax today..... Think of me teaching art to 234 students today! So many children.....

You are very strong and I will be praying for you today.

Barb,

I am sorry the hospital did not get all your information together. Maybe they can fax it today. Hope you have a better day. Let us know what is happening.

Seems like the mediacal field is about as accurate on our requests or orders as McDonalds is...but at least at Mickie D's...they give you a comp or something....I hope today is better and they get the tests there quickly so you can geton with treatment.
Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts

Barb,

I am sorry to hear of this little setback, but hopefully everything will come together shortly so that the docs can figure out a plan of action for you.

Hang in there.

all the best

I am becoming a strong advocate of some sort of quality control for both doctors (including their staff) and hospitals (same). There does not seem to be any penalization when they goof up or misdiagnose. It does nor affect their life or income in any way. Obviously, policing themselves is not working. Hope they get everything there this time.

ugh! That just drives me crazy! I mean, don't you have enough to handle without feeling like you have to go down there and assemble the paperwork yourself??? I think they just have no clue how a "small" oversight on their part impacts you as a person.

Hoping they get it right...and that the info is enough to help suggest a plan of action from your Chicago onc.

hang in there, Barb.

Barb,
I am sorry you have to deal with all this. I went to my Onc today and her staff "forgot" to order my Xeloda. It appears that Oncs, Drs, Hospitals are becoming overwhelmed and sloppy these days.
Take another deep breath and know we are all here for you. Throw that fear into the campfire tonight...your papers are on the way.
Much love and prayers, Vickie
