I talked via phone with Anderson in Houston yesterday...they only thing they would be interested in seeing me for would be in the "research" instead of "treatment" center for a phase I.
If I shipped all my info there Monday after seeing the consultant they believe they could get me an appointment in early March. Seems a long ways away and not a very positive possiblity.
If anyone else perceives the statement I just made in another way, or knows more about this type of treatment than I do I would appreciate the feedback or an email.
Obviously, I continue to need input and help from all you really wonderful and smart people.

Good Morning Barb,
I'm sorry that I can offer you no suggestions or help but I'm sure someone here can.
I just wanted to encourage you and offer my prayers to you. I can only imagine the stress you are facing right now.
May God's Peace surround you this day....
Love,
Mary Jo

I am sorry to hear your news. However, keep knocking on doors and keep looking for other opportunities.
Don't give up. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

HI Barb,
I think it's smart to seek other opinions and if MD Anderson can get you in, on any basis, I would go. Once there (your foot in the door) things could change. They are reknowned around the world for their research and work with IBC patients. Sometimes we are led to places that change our lives. If it isn't too time consuming or expensive for you, I'm rooting for you to go there and seek other options. You can still get another opinion elsewhere and go to Anderson. Whatever you decide, I will be praying for you and keeping you in my heart. Please let me know how you are doing and what your decision is.
Much love, Vickie

Have you looked into the TDM1 trial to see if you can qualify?

Hmm...
I'll have to go back to the other post, but if we are talking about brain mets, the DM1 trial might not be a good option as it is a herceptin based molecule and wouldn't cross the blood brain barrier. But maybe the issue is something else...I'll go check.

Barb - can you cut and paste and post the table you made with your whole history so we can see it at once? March is only 2 weeks from now. SEt up the appt and if we come up w/another idea you can cancel.
I would check out what they have to say. As you know, "Research" could mean treatment with a new drug or new combination.
Barb,
I would absolutely go - MD Anderson as you know is top notch and any trial they may have to offer would be something to research and consider. In the meantime,
reach out to other main cancer centers to see if they have something to offer. I am a firm beliver in 2nd and 3rd opinions, two heads are always better than one. What about UCLA?
Please let us know how things go.
My prayers and good wishes are coming at you.
Hugs,
jean

Barb,
You can probably make an appointment and also look into other trials on your own. Time can pass quickly (well, maybe not so quickly, like waiting for a pot of water to boil), and if other trials don't fit, you can still see someone at Anderson.
You're in my prayers to get an answer.
Joan
