Tricia....like you, the dr wants to biopsy just to be sure.
For the past month (maybe longer since it is in the middle of my back and not very noticeable) I have felt this small kinda rough, raised area. So I went to the dermatologist to ck it out, esp since my risk for melanoma is slightly higher then the avg person due to my BRCA2 status.
So it is asymptomatic outside of what I could barely feel with my fingertips.
Many of our thoughts can get somewhat out of control and I hve to keep reminding myself that thoughts are merely a view of a particular perspective. They are not fact, they are not predictors of the future, they are just a perspective. So I try not to make attachments to them.

The Chinese [Han descents]have been dubbed "Eastern Jews"; there must have been some genetic links between the two oldest civilizations - both believe they are the 'chosen people':).

Actually, in the Tang Dynasty (618~907 A.D.) - a very prosperous time in Chinese history - record of Jewish people living in China were preserved. And after the Russian revolution, many Russian Jews lived in Shanghai and other big cities in China.

Perhaps another proof of the existence of the Tower of Babel? I would bet that our Her2 sisters are all somehow related since we carry the same type of genes...

I understand your "worries" I'm entering the final phase of my "battle" and recently had a scare. I had terrible bone pain--still do-- and was almost convinced I'd fallen victim to bone mets. After a very worrying few weeks I had a complete, full body bone scan. The results came bach CLEAR. I'm confident your results will be the same. Keep the faith. I've said a prayer for you, and will do so again.

RE: Jackie's recent post on the Hans Chinese. Very interesting info Jackie. If it is true that they are genetically related to the Jews like that, it puts that genetic study into a very different light in the statement that Asians are understated in the predisposition to the BRCA1/2 gene. No wonder the results came out like that.

I'm sooooo glad that your biopsy turned out to be B9!!!! It's incredible how our mind thinks the worst after having cancer, we've all been there. Things that we would have never paid attention to b/4, now we fear. In any case, you can rest assured and celebrate!!!

Regarding the Han Chinese and the Jews. There has been travel between the Middle East, various parts of Asia, Asia Minor (modern day Turkey), Africa and Europe since the earliest times, so the Jews who migrated from the Middle East to Western and Eastern Europe (Askauer - spelling ?? Jews) may not be the only ethnic group that can carry the BRCA genes. I learned in linguistics class that the old Turkish language is in the same language family as the old Chinese language. Humm. Interesting. I always thought that it might be possible for other ethnic groups to carry the BRCA genes.

There was vibrant trade, diplomatic and religious missions between Japan and the rest of the world all the way up to the early 17th century and then after the mid 1800's, so it is quite possible that travelers (including Askauer Jewish people) got to Japan from Goa, the rest of Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and all of the Americas. Asians came to the Americas in rather large groups after the late 1800's. It is very possible that BRCA can be found in many ethnic groups in addition to the ones medical professionals have identified.
