on new years eve my mom had another heart attack and is in the hospital. she had her first heart attack about 25 years ago and has had many surgeries, heart attacks, strokes, etc... since then. since she was just 40 when she had that first one and her dad died at age 34 of the same thing as i reached those ages i really freaked out. but i made it to 45 with no heart problems and am crossing my fingers i can keep it that way. she had a test on friday that didn't go well, her heart was beating so fast it was a solid black line on the monitor, and they had to stop the test. now they are planning a heart cath and angioplast with hopefully a stint put in tomorrow, but they say there's so much scar tissue from past times that they might not be able to do much. and then tuesday she is getting a pacemaker put in. i've never gotten used to all of this and am really obsessing about the next few days. i've taken tomorrow off already and will probably go tuesday as well. i just ask for a prayer for my mom that all goes well with this tomorrow, as i'm sure it probably will. i just can't help thinking about the times in the past when it didn't. i don't mean to sound like a big baby, I JUST DON"T WANT TO LOSE MY MOMMY!
Sending positive thoughts to your Mom, Juanita. I hope everything goes well and she has a full recovery.
all the best

today was a long day with lots of problems. didn't get to do all of what they'd planned cuz her heart wouldn't coooperate with them. so they're giving it a day of rest tomorrow and wednesday they're going to try again for the stint. the block is in one of her bypasses where it meets the heart-the off ramp i guess. her doc didn't think they could do the stint cuz it's kinda curved but surgeon says he can. and the surgeon sees more open hearts than the doc so i'm crossing my fingers he's right and that's what they get done on wednesday. if not it's another surgery on another day. the one bright spot today is my sister and niece are in from arkansas and i spent the day walking up and down the stairs with my niece to keep my restless legs and my mind busy. thanks for all the prayers!

Dear Juanita -
I know what these hospital vigils are like as what we went through with my dad in 2007 is still fresh in my mind. Sorry you are in this tough, tough position.
The specialists can do wonders these days, but there are times when the body has too much against it and the outcome is not optimal.
Keep up the walking and you will do yourself some good, even though it is to keep yourself occupied and one step ahead of the fear that is haunting you.
My fervent prayers for Mom's healing.
