I got home from the hospital tonight!

No cancer cells found in any of the tissue checked and it all looked like scar tissue. The wafers did match the tissue so they were put in to kill any nasty cell that may have been there.

I was kept awake for the 2 1/2 hours during the surgery and never put back to sleep. They talked to me through the whole thing.

I am having a little trouble with having feeling in my feet (they work fine) and once in a while I cannot remember something short term just as it was before the surgery - time will tell whether or not it is temporary or permanent.

Over all it appears that things came out well, life will go on and be good!

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Barb

I did see the picture today of the PET Scan which was the reason that they felt they should remove it even though they did not find any cells that tested positive.

Barb,

Your news is wonderful and you are Wonder Woman for going through the surgery.

I came on the board this morning to check up on you. I'd been wondering whether you were home yet from the hospital.

I too felt a little unsteady on my feet after the surgery and it eventually passed.

Relax and enjoy Thanksgiving.

Still catching up since I was away and did not bring laptop.

This news of your surgery results was what I was thinking about. Very glad I posted that possibility to you and that it turned out SO well.

Now you understand firsthand the dilemma of the brain docs and why the scans are not accurate in telling us what is going on. I think it is with the brain like our bones when they can't tell tumor from scar from arthritis.

YAY for 100% necrosis/dying tissue. Gamma Knife is GOOD! http://her2support.org/vbulletin/images/icons/icon7.gif
