Hi Everyone,
I have a friend who was dx as stage iv in '07 with mets to liver/lung. She was treated with ten months of Taxol and delighted to discover both the liver/lung mets had disappeared completly.
The breast lump however has only marginally shrunk and her onc now thinks it a good idea to refer her to a surgeon.
She's read reports of increased survival time by having either a mast or lumpectomy of around 1-3 years but is undecided as to whether it's worth the risk of surgery and time spent recovering. She's also very confused as to why the breast lump alone did'nt change much and is scared of making the wrong choice's.
Has anything similar happened to someone else here or can anyone provide any info or tips that may be useful?
I know she'd appreciate any help regarding this, she's her2- but hormone pos and takes arimidex.
Thanks for taking the time to help!
