The daughter of our dear Danish friend, Vibeke Van Laar, (who died of IBC in June), is running in a marathon to raise money in her mother's name. Her daughter is Lise Harrow and has 3 adorable little girls, who all live in HK. We miss our friend, Vibeke, greatly. She was also HER2+++ and she fought a brave and valiant fight (she went skiing twice in January and February) and I hope a cure will be found soon. In case you would like to help her, here is her daughter's email to me:
"Most of you know that I have signed up to run my first marathon and I have decided to try and raise money for IBC UK in memory of mum.
IBC (inflammatory breast cancer) is a very aggressive type of breast cancer that can occur in women of all ages. What is scary about this type of breast cancer is that it is harder to detect and classified as a stage IIIB or IV once detected.

You can make your donation through www.justgiving.com/liseharrow (http://www.justgiving.com/liseharrow)

Justgiving sends your donation straight to IBC UK (INFLAMMATORY BREAST CANCER UK) and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so
your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting IBC UK.

IBC UK is a non-profit organization who aims to promote awareness and is dedicated to research into the causes, treatment and cure of IBC.

Wish me luck on 7 December in hot Singapore!

Lise"
