I was wondering if there is someone else on this board , that is using 5fu for the skin bc mets? it comes in a tube, and you have to put on gloves before you use it...I am also taking tykerb daily...I have went back and done some research here at this site,(on 5fu) maybe I missed it? i would appreciate any input on this ....i just started this med yesterday. thanks

Personally, I haven't heard of 5FU cream, but it's an interesting concept...

I know of a friend whose husband had some kind of pre-melanoma and he had to use this cream. It's supposed to be pretty tough if it's the same one. His arms were burning but she is out of town so I cannot reach her to ask. Or maybe it's not so tough but he's a sissy:) Whatever he was using it worked! I'm pretty sure it was 5fu.

Hi Charlotte,
I haven't heard of this cream being used for bc skin mets. My friends' husband was given this cream to use for a basil carcinoma on his nose. I don't know that he ever used it though.
I wish you great results with the cream. Beat back those pesky mets!

My nephew uses it. He was diagnosed at 33 w stage 1 melanoma.
