I know Joan was going to have brain surgery around this time but I don't recall her posting the actual dates. Just wondering if anyone has talked to her?

I talked with her. She went home pretty quickly. I think she was home by Monday. (Can't remember what night I talked with her. Sorry). Sounded pretty good to me. I hope she posts soon.

So far I'm doing very well. And it was your support and encouragement that enabled me to get through the ordeal!!

I had the surgery on Friday very early in the a.m. and was home by Monday early p.m.

I'd spoken on the phone in the hospital with MJO who also called yesterday, and Flori, I'll call you this weekend.

I've been resting a lot but took a good walk on Thursday and Friday.

Demon Decadron is keeping me up at night, but I'm taking Atavan to combat that. I have very minor swelling over and under the left eye, and will be going off the steriod at the end of the month. On Monday I'll have the staples removed.

I'm doing little things around the house like small laundry and putting out fall decorations, because I need to keep moving. Cooking a lot too.

Today I'm going to my local bc support group for lunch. I can't drive for 10 days but one of my girlfriends from the group will pick me up.

I already have my appointment for the start of stereotatic radiotherapy, but need first to heal for three weeks.

Love you all!!!

Joan

Hi Joan,
I'm glad to year that you are home and doing well. I found the decadron to be the hardest to deal with.
Thinking of you,
Barbara

Yesterday I had the staples removed. Very easy, as I think the scalp has few nerve endings. Didn't feel anything.

Now I'll have to see how my hair grows in, as the staples went from just a drop above my hairline from the inner part of my right eyebrow all the way along the hairline left to just above my left ear behind the hairline on my face.

I asked the surgeon about this, but she said that that's the best way to get to a frontal lobe tumor.

I'm on my way to getting off the Decadron in a few days! Yeah!!!

Wow Joan,

You have completely changed my concept about brain surgery. The technology must have changed in such way that you are able to post on the board right after you left the hospital.

Glad to know you are doing so well.
