View Full Version : Update On Dm1/herceptin Trial
IRENE FROM TAMPA

Well my friends, tomorrow I will receive my 7th treatment on this trial.
I hope this is encouraging for everyone, but I went to see my onc. today for results of my scans and my Pet scan does not show any tumors at this time. This was from 15 tumors in June. My markers have also been dropping. He is very pleased as so are we.
Aside from my platelets dropping to 66, and getting fever for the first week after my treatment, this is a pretty easy regimen. I pray this will be my magic bullet but for now I AM VERY HAPPY.
Everyone take care and diffently keep this combo in mind if you should need.

Hi Irene,
I am so excited for you. I am so glad you are responding. This drug has also lowered my platelets, and I tend to get a lot of nosebleeds. Nevertheless, this treatment is very tolerable compared to others.
Best,
Barbara H.

OH, Irene, you made MY day, too! I saw a smiley face on the thread (which was nothing compared your real face) and couldn't wait to read your good news! I also have the platelets drop and feel yucky the first week after treatment but it is a small price to pay!
SOOOO happy for you!
Much love

Wonderful news Irene.
Genentech gave an update on status of T-DM1 agent during today's q3 earning report.
A T-DM1 phaseIII trial vs Tykerb/Xeloda in 2nd line setting MBC treatment is being prepared. Likewise a combo phaseI T-DM1 and Pertuzumab trial is being developed.
An international phaseII T-DM1 trial vs Docetaxel in 1st line setting MBC therapy has started and a stateside phaseII MBC T-DM1 trial in 3rd line setting is currently recruiting.
So it looks like Genentech is quite serious in getting this product to mqrket place.

Irene,
The news in the world has been rather grim.
Banks failing, wall St. dropping like a rock, house values
dropping....
Then...there is your news....
I say WONDERFUL...you made my week!
Who could ask for anything more?
Best Wishes and continued success!

Hi Lady I. -
Gotta get in on the kudos for doing so well on this trial. Seems it has reduced your tumor load tremendously and seems to be getting at the resistant tumors you have been fighting for years.
This is "over the top" news!!!
Keep this up and NED will have your dance card filled ...
