~Lily's Update~October 1, 2008

Upon returning from our cruise I was too looking for Lily. I spoke to our flower last night and she said it was okay to post her update. First and most important, she does not want anyone to worry.....just keep praying and sending positive thoughts her way.

Lily had issues with the two big spots on her liver, there are 5 total. They were drained and filled right back up within 24 hours. She was so bloated and uncomfortable but was 'bearing with it all' the best way she knew how. Her new doctor who I love, love, love was right besides her all the way through everything and gave he two choices. Chemo or opt to remove part of the liver that had the 2 big spots. She had 30% of her liver removed.

She had a team of many doctors in charge of her care. If anything this has given her much comfort as she faces these new issues. She was rather impressed with her care thus far. Lily is in great care and my heart was smiling as she updated me.

Lily will still get her spheres, she is just trying to stay healthy for these new fights. Her spirits are so "Lily-Like" and we laughed and talked just like this is a passing shower. Afterwards, she will be back on the Tykerb train along with Herceptin.

So far she is healing slow but sure. They have removed her staples and she has been getting around alot better now.

I will update you when I find out more. For right now....she asks for continued prayers. She thanks you for the love and support, you guys are the best>>Believe51

Thanks so much for taking time to let us know about Lily. It sounds like she has really been through quite a lot, but still has her fighting spirit. Please tell her we are all keeping her close in our hearts and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Marie, first of all I hope that you and Ed had a wonderful vacation. You certainly deserved it! Secondly, I hope that now that you have rested you are both ready for Ed's new treatment. I really appreciate your update on Lily. We were oh so worried that we hadn't heard from her or about her. I am glad that she is being treated well and in good spirits. I am saying a prayer that she continues to heal and that things continue in a positive way. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to let us know what is going on. Thank you so much for the update, we were so worried about Lily, all these days without news, I felt that something very serious was going on. I am sorry to hear she has been going through all this, but I am glad to know she has a great team of doctors on her side, and that she had a liver surgery and got rid of those 2 pest tumors forever, she made the right choice. I pray that she heals fast and get strong so that she can have the second Sphere procedure soon.
I hope you and Ed had a wonderful vacation. You are both also in my daily prayers.

Ed's gamma was the 10th of this month. All is well except the "Decadron" issues. I am not used to seeing his 'behaviorial' issues that this causes (large dose, weaning him to lower...whew!)....LOL. Update you all soon.>>Believe51

Dear Marie ~ thank you so much for the update on Lily. You really are an Angel Marie ~ everything you do for Mighty Oak and all the folks here. Im sure you've probably heard it a hundred times - but I hope you are looking after yourself too! It's not easy for any of us this whole process eh?
