i just wanted to share some good news that doesn't involve me falling or getting hurt...So I got the report back from the PET/CAT scan I had before I landed in the hospital. Thanks to Herceptin, the 2 spots on my lung are half the size they were on the last scan!! It was not the news I had hoped for, but I am VERY happy with this anyway. I was hoping to be NED by now but know I will be able to say that soon once again.

Thanks to everyone that has been praying for me and keeping my spirits up along this long journey. Please know that I smile at all your good news and cry and pray when there is sad or not such good news even though I might not post. Love to you all....

Thanks for the good news Madame DuBois. Yucky canser spots
shrinking by 50% is definitely great news!

Maryann, it is always good to hear your positive attitude. Some day you must explain that photo location! I assume it is one of those restaurants with copious amounts of meat presented on swords....

Bonnie - the photo was taken at an all you can eat BBQ in San Diego when I was there for the Cancer Research conference this past spring. Stephanie and I ate until we couldn't move as did Tiptoe, Tex and the chicken yet to be named. That's Tiptoe on my shoulder...

Maryann,

I know it was not quite the news you wanted to hear, but since the spots are half the size, the Herceptin is doing it job!!

I pray that your next PET shows those spots to be blown away to Bolivian.

I am glad to read "no more falls or getting hurt"!! Continue with your wonderful stories of your "never a dull moment" life, just BE CAREFUL!! No more falls!!

Maryann, thanks for the details. Hummmm, San Diego is about 2 hours from me. If I jump in the car now I can be there for lunch....
Hope to keep hearing good reports from you. Keep the faith.

Maryann,

Your situation has been uncommon and so all the more valuable to anyone who happens to come along who is dealing with some of the same questions. I wish you had someone that could help you in the same way, but you are having to explore most of this firsthand without that guide in front of you. Your posts are so important. I'm glad there is progress, even if it is slower than you had hoped.

Much love,

AlaskaAngel

Wonderful news, all the same!

You are attacking those cancer cells with three approaches by shutting down the hormone receptor, inhibiting the HER2 receptor, with the Xeloda killing the dividing cells (I think).

There may be another pathway that is not addressed so it is slowing down the progress, but PROGRESS it is!

Your diet must be helping as well. Just be a little calmer and let the drugs do their work. Hope you are off the steroids by now!!
