My ca2729 tumor marker was down another 190 pts yesterday. It's now 161 from a high of 603 just before I started taxol/avastin in May. I'm so happy with the decrease.

If this continues to look good hopefully I can get a break from the taxol in a few months. I'm guessing I'll have a pet scan in Sept/Oct.

Does anyone just take avastin on it's own? Or avastin/tykerb? I'm not on tykerb or herceptin right now & would feel 'safer' if one of them was added again.

Hi Pam

That's great news. I heard that Taxol/Avastin was a great combo.

I am on Avastin and Gemzar (for liver mets) and had a discussion with my onc about adding Tykerb and although it hasn't been tested with this combo, he said "why not". So that's where we are. Sounds like adding Tykerb to your regimen would make a lot of sense. I have scans in two weeks so I'll post how it's all going.

I am so glad the Taxol /Avastin is doing its thing...i took both with Herceptin and had excellent results until my blood pressure got too high...even with meds...Do keep an eye on the B/P, mine has always been very low and now even after Avastin, i need meds to keep it controlled....I was on the "A" six months...still on the taxol herceptin.

The b/p worries me about the avastin too. Mine was alw- avays low before too average 120/60, sometimes less. Now it's been 160/80 range.
