O/T - swollen glands?

I know that some on this board have had swollen glands in their neck. I was wondering what causes them. My little boy has a lump at the back of his neck. I'm sure it is just a swollen gland but we're going to the drs. tomorrow to have it checked out.

He isn't sick, so I'm wondering what is causing it?

I know this sounds gross but my daughter had swollen lymph nodes in her neck when she had head lice. The lice can cause this reaction. Just a thought.

Thanks Melissa. Speaking of gross, I found a tick in his hair when I was trying to figure out why he had swollen glands. He had been hiking with my husband. Needless-to-say we had to get a blood test to see if he has lyme disease.

I hope he doesn't.
