I was searching for Herceptin access in Africa after reading Christi from Kenya's post... I found this on a very nice Roche sponsored HER2 site. I thought it was a very interesting idea. http://www.her2.co.za/content/blogcategory/24/52/
Think Beyond Pink
The HER2 Breast Friends pink and orange ribbon was developed to encourage women with breast cancer to think beyond pink, and if diagnosed with breast cancer to find out their type, so that they can get the right diagnosis, tests and treatment.
This new multi-coloured breast cancer ribbon is a global ribbon.
The original international pink ribbon or breast cancer ribbon was first used in October 1985 as a symbol of respect and commitment to the fight against breast cancer. It also serves as a visual reminder of all the people who have been touched by this disease.
