Think Beyond Pink

The HER2 Breast Friends pink and orange ribbon was developed to encourage women with breast cancer to think beyond pink, and if diagnosed with breast cancer to find out their type, so that they can get the right diagnosis, tests and treatment.

This new multi-coloured breast cancer ribbon is a global ribbon.

The original international pink ribbon or breast cancer ribbon was first used in October 1985 as a symbol of respect and commitment to the fight against breast cancer. It also serves as a visual reminder of all the people who have been touched by this disease.

Thanks for finding this, I've never seen this before. I think it's great that information & advocacy becomes even more specific. It carries with it the hope that more lives could be saved. I think it's important for the world to know that there are many types of breast cancer and that treatment guidelines differ for each type. And with this knowledge, bc survivors can take better control of our lives too.

Interesting idea to "think beyond pink." When people ask me about my cancer it is difficult to get across that I don't have the 'garden variety' without getting into a bit of detail. I stop when their eyes begin to glaze ...

I thought another kind of cancer used ORANGE. Anyway I have seen orange rubber wristbands.

Can't keep them ALL straight!

yes we are a different group, makes me feel that we her2 affected people are one family, nice to wear this orange wrist band, hope i get one. i do feel now i have an extended family and i pray for you all daily
