At the LiveStrong Summit over the weekend, I met a man named Johnny Imerman. He is an angel, and he has started a mentoring organization called Imerman's Angels. He is whole-heartedly supported by LiveStrong. He is a survivor.

He connects any newly diagnosed cancer survivor who desires one on one support/mentoring with another survivor who shares a similar diagnosis, and who has already "navigated the waters" as it were. I promised him I could find him at least 20 volunteers within a couple of weeks, and bragged that HER2Support.org is the most supportive and knowledgeable group of soft-hearted people I have ever met... so of course now I am obligated to get the ball rolling.

Please visit his website and if you are so inclined, please contact them. This is truly wonderful and amazing.

Brenda,
Have been doing this.
I have four women that have been placed in my path.
Just being there for them and sharing.

I will be happy to contact your Angel and help!

Our local news did a piece on Immermans Angels last night...with 2 of the women that I see at chemo...both with breast Cancer...
if anyone wants to see it, they can go to
www.myfoxchicago.com (http://www.myfoxchicago.com)

and click on the health button at the top of the page.
Truly an amazing idea.

I just saw the news clip on a local channel here in Chicago. I met Johnny last year at a cancer survivor's celebration at the hospital where Sheila and I are treated. I am assuming he was also treated at Rush.

I know this is what we do on the site but in cyberspace. Wouldn't it be nice if a few of us volunteered to be angels for our her2+ sisters one on one. Like Brenda said I am sure we could round up 20 interested members. I am off to sign up!

Hello all....

I am an "angel".......http://her2support.org/vbulletin/images/icons/icon7.gif Well, ok, I'm not....BUT I will be one of Imerman's "angels" now. I spoke with Jonny last evening and I am in the data base. I am so excited about this wonderful opportunity.

Thanks Brenda for bringing this to our attention.
