Friends:

AS many of you know, Bill has recently made his 1000th post. As an honor to Bill's selfless devotion and his dedication to this forum and to his wife, Nicola, I would ask all of Bill's friends or anyone who Bill has helped to post a Haiku or short poem to honor Bill.

(A Haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines, the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables.)

Thanks Bill.

True love is unconquerable and irresistible,
and it will go on gathering power and
spreading itself until it transforms everyone
it touches

Oh Lee, I just re-read your thread. This is a contest??? So it is to be an original?
Oh well.... you can void mine out then I guess.....
Maybe I will try again later.

I am not good at poems or haiku, but my thoughts are full of thankfulness that Bill is one of us !!

I don't think this should be a contest, how about more of a tribute. I suggested the Haiku form because sometimes having some structure really helps creativity.

Pink Girl,
It's sweet, but it isn't a haiku

Nicola and Bill
Symbiotic mates for life
Apart, but nearby.

What a great love and admiration the two of you had for each other. Very refreshing.

a Japanese poem with 31 syllables in 5 lines, with 5 syllables in the 1st and 3rd lines, and 7 syllables in the others.

Here's mine:

Bill and Nicola
Sharing life as man and wife
Loving so deeply
Some people never have this
They did -- for eternity!

Didn't mean to intrude on your haiku thread, the tanka suggestion was for PinkGirl since she has such a gift with this!

Vi, tanks for the new format

Roses are red-ish
Some vi-o-lets are blue-ish
Sugar is sweet-ish
Bill's cupcakes kind of small-ish
But still better than spray cheese.

(A Haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines, the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables.)

Bill is a man who
spreads love, joy and happiness
to me and my "girls"

Okay, not my best work. If I could add two more syllables to the last line, I would say...and "boys". :)

Take care,

Bill

Hey guys, especially Lee, and all of my friends here (too numerous to name, but you know it's all of you), you guys are too much, and laying it on too thick. I really appreciate all of your kind words, but, really, all I've done here is type 1000 posts. Many of them were very short. You guys are all the ones that deserve the accolades. It really means alot to me how much you cared for Nicola, as she cared for you. Thank you, my friends

Thanks, Lee. I know some who might call it Low-IQ, but I like Low-ku, or Lo-co might fit better.
