View Full Version : Only a cyst

Had an ultrasound done of my ovary today and it was indeed only a cyst. In fact it has almost resolved itself. My Gyn said that she sees quite a few false PET positives when dealing with cysts. I figured that with an uptake of 7.3, I was pretty well doomed. Couldn't imagine battling ovarian cancer on top of this. Thank God it's nothing and I'm good to go till my next set of scans in 6 months...sherryg683

Sherry, That is great news! I went through the same thing when first DX. The PET/CT scan showed what they thought was a cyst but they weren't sure? I imagined the worse of course. But it turned out to be a benign cyst which has been removed.
So I have a pretty good idea how you were feeling. I am so glad you now have this all behind you and can breath again. :) Thanks for the update, I was just going to ask if you had found out anything. So this is wonderful news...the kind we like.

Glad it's just a cyst.
I have had 3 uterine fibroids - resulted from the three infertility treatments done in 1998. Haven't felt much - wonder if all the chemo has helped diminish them...

Cysts are so common in many areas of our bodies. It so typical of so many of us to want to be on top of anything out of the ordinary.
Typical ME: I was just at my phys therapist and in the mirror at home I had noticed this little elevation on my spine. Looked like a misquito bite (but wasn't ichy). So the next time I saw him, I had it targeted with a permanent marker to MARK THE SPOT, so he could ck it out to make sure it was NOTHING wierd...know what I mean??? It was nothing but part of my spine and it was just more obvious because I am thin.
Sometimes....I get so tired of looking at every little discoloration or funny feeling in my body and just wondering...always wondering...and I am thinking....when am I ever going to get over being so D--- paranoid!!???

the good news Sherry. We LOVE to hear good news. Those cysts are a pain - I've had many over the years, they always seem to resolve themselves.

I am so glad to hear your great news!! My thoughts and prayers have been with you.
Let me tell everyone what my boss just told me. . . His mother-in-law you had been a heavy smoker for years was diagnosed ~2 years ago with stage IV lung cancer. The doctors told her she had 6 months at the most. She just went to the doctor a few days ago and she is completly cured!! God is good!!
