Hi, Just wanted to update my treatment regime. I had MRSA in early Feb 08 and dropped Xeloda to help me recover. I went to Venice and environs 3 weeks later and while I was away i started to get a bit breathless. I thought that the cancer was probably coming back, so when I came home I had a CT scan (NED) and decided that I wouldn't go back on Xeloda as I felt the cancer had resurfaced and i wanted to 'save' Xeloda for a good run. Meanwhile the MRSA had resurfaced. My breathing/coughing was laboured and 5 weeks after my previous scan I rescanned. I had a moderate pleural effusion. My GP said that she thought there may have been some pleural effusion as a reaction to the MRSA (it had happened last time)and gave me antibiotics. However, my oncologist pooh-hooed the whole idea and put me on Taxotere/Hrceptin. I can't imagine that the cancer had moved so fast in my lungs when it hasn't previously. Any one got any advice, I am feeling at my wit's end to try and work out my best solution.

I am sorry to hear the problems you have encountered.
Sounded like the doctors are taking actions. Whether the choice y'all made is the best, only time can tell. Remember that there are people on the other side of the earth praying for you. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Roz! I don't have experience with my lungs yet, but it surely does seem that you'd have to have appropriate tests to know for sure. Please let us know what you find out. ma
