Hi,

Joe's usual, ever so supportive soul asked me to post this for anyone interested in contacting the program sponsor for this conference. I read the program agenda and saw where Dr's Pegram and Slamon were speakers at this conference... amongst other notorious individuals.

Dear MTS,
in 2005 I had the honor of attending 'Era' as a telephone helpline I was involved in was part of a research study in collaboration with U of PENN, and so we (FORCE) were posters. It was an incredible experience. i'd love to be able to attend, however finances are not too great this year...sigh...

Hi MTS,
Hmmm, may have to see if my worklplace can accomodate me. My arrangements were taken care of at my first Era so I am not familiar with the application process. Are you going? Here is a link to what I was involved with in 2005. It would be cool if others were interested as well!
Hugs,Marcia

PS,FYI, We are trying to relocate to Palm Coast ,Fl at the moment...is this near you?

Hi Marcia,

The link I pasted in my first post has the contact info to apply to Era of Hope... Let me know what happens.

Palm Coast, Eh? Beautiful area... a model town. Its about 3 1/2 hrs NE from where I am.
I live 70 miles from either coast and around 70 miles South of Orlando. A little town named Avon Park (pop 8000) - a bit rural with touches of fancy.

Hello again Maria,
I am out on medical leave for the next week, return to work for 10 days and then leave again for this conference for 4 days..

http://www.facingourrisk.org/annual_conference/conference_2008.html

I just think I have used up all my "brownie points" with my employer for a while. I have been out on medical for 7 months since alst August 28th (reconstruction w /complications).Worked for 5 weeks then out again for another surgery.
I will speak with my HR and see what they have to say ,
We really like Palm Coast, the only thing I didnt like is the stats on Shark Attacks...highest in the US! Shessh!
thanks ,Marcia
