Wow, I won a contest!

The last time I won a contest I was 12 years old and I won a pair of ugly sneakers. This is much better. I won an Ipod with a Bose Sound Dock. It will be perfect to take with me when I go horsecamping!

Anyway, I'm excited cause Health Talk chose me as their Grand Prize winner for submitting the winning idea for their upcoming webcast. It will be on April 15th and is about long term survivors with metastatic disease.
Just go to healthtalk.com and click on cancers, then webcasts, then upcoming webcasts.

I remember when I first was diagnosed, I wanted to know everything that the long term survivors had done. Everything from diet, lifestyle, supplements and so on.

I just thought this would be an interesting and encouraging topic for those newly diagnosed. Guess they did too!

Horsecamping...that sounds SO cool!

:)

(also will be interested in what is said. It would be interesting here to see what long term survivors are doing in common.

Kim, Congratulations! Isn't it exciting to actually WIN something. That's a cool prize...very useful. Bose Sound Dock has awesome sound which you probably already know.

I can see WHY they choose your idea. That's a topic I know all people DX would be very interested in...in fact I still am. When DX most of us all want to know what we can take control of and change to improve our changes. So that is just fantastic! I plan on marking my calendar so I can actually hear that webcast. Again, BIG CONGRATULATIONS.

Enjoy!

Congratulations, Kim! Way to go and a great idea! Horse-camping, the only way to beat that is to train one to sit in a canoe. Then we'd have something. Enjoy that iPod!

Thanks everyone for the enthusiastic congratulations!

Truth be told, I would have been very happy and flattered just to know that they liked my idea enough to use it. The prize is really such a bonus, I just can't believe it. It's like finding a five dollar bill in a jacket you haven't worn in forever only 100 times better!!

Now Bill, as far as horses in canoes go......What do I do if he refuses to help paddle?! http://her2support.org/vbulletin/images/icons/icon7.gif

That's an easy one, Kim. You look him square in the eye, point your finger at him and say,"Listen, Mister, you got two choices, one, you help us paddle, two, you're outta the canoe and out front all decked out in full harness pulling us down the river like a Clydesdale. Now what's it gonna be?" Trust me on this one, Kim, they always choose the paddle.
