Hi Mary Anne,
I am sorry not to respond sooner. We are doing some remodeling and have not gotten to the site as much as I normally do.

Yes, I did attend a Genetech Herstory event. As Shelia said the weather was not the best so attendance was sparse. I was hoping to meet other Her2+ folks. I am glad I went but thought it was more for the newly diagnosed, explaining stage, grade, the benefit of Herceptin etc.

The food was great! Let me know what you think.

Donna, thanks a million for your reply. I have to really disrupt my schedule to be there on a Thursday nite (3 1/2 hours away and go back for granddaughter next day!) so I really wanted to be sure it was equal to the effort! Sounds good, but like you say, more for new folks! I may pass after all unless I can get the back and forth thing solved. Thank you so much for chiming in! ma

Mary Anne,

Do you have an agenda of the event? Do you recommend any site where I could get info from? I would really like to attend one of these events, just for information.

Hey Paty!
The pink square at the top left of this page (Herstory) will give you the web site with the information. ma

I went to one last year and yes, there was food. I thought it was ok... I didn't leave feeling inspired.

Karen, thanks for your reply. I was doubting my decision to keep life simple and just go on Friday and miss the event. I know it would be nice, but keeping things simple and with less stress still tops my list! Thanks so much, ma
P.S. Just as an aside...as I type and look out my windows, an elegant blue heron stalks the fishermen next door who just got back from an all day fishing trip. I just love these birds. They are so "back in time" and incredible! Oh my, here come their sea gull friends....pelicans can't be far behind!

I received an email from an advocate associated with the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation. She told me the meeting was well attended and worthwhile...

...never mentioned the food.
