Ladies,
I'm getting ready to start a Phase II Study using Herceptin/DM1. Anyone done this treatment or know of anyone who has? Thanks for any comments.

Run to Live,

Is that what it's known as...tras-dm1? I've heard some call it Super Herceptin. I'm just excited to be part of it. I will get my first treatment Monday, and I will keep you all posted on the results. This is very exciting to me. I feel this might be the miracle treatment. Yes, it will be every 3 weeks.

Hi all,
Just wanted to check in with you all and let you know I've had my 2nd treatment a week ago. The first was just like the first time I did Herceptin...flu like symtoms, the second one, piece of cake.
Sorry I have not responded sooner, been so busy.
More updates after I get my PET scan.

Ladies, my 3rd treatment was Monday. I have a PET scan tomorrow. Hope to have results on Friday to share. All has been good so far. Just a few things; dry mouth, hands & feet feel like the old Taxol treatment (numbness & tingling)and, hard to focus on my vision.

Update on T-DM1 study:
Had 5th treatment Monday. All going good. PET/CT scan good, cancer out of my liver and back nodes. I have another one on the 18th. Anyone ever hear anything about these scans being harmful?

HI Verna,

Glad to hear you're doing so well! I'm in the same study and just had my 6th treatment Wednesday...so I'm due for another set of scans.

I too am not happy about the number of scans, it just doesn't seem good to have all that radioactive stuff over and over. I'm now on a 28 day dosing schedule instead of the 21 days, so at least I will get to have an 8 week interval instead of 6 weeks!

On one hand, they want to be sure they can tell what's going on with the efficacy of the treatment...but geez!
