Therein lies the rub... measuring how much real genistein you are consuming everyday, and not supplementing.

However, the article doesn't report if the study addressed what else their diet consisted of that may have also contributed to either 1. a synergistic/or/mitigating effect with the soy, or 2. may have been even more responsible for the lower b/c risk than the soy...

I am thinking there might be a lot more info/questions than simply what is reported in the article or than was considered for this study.

they had a scientific conference just looking into the "soy story"

Whether how it is processed makes a difference, whether the Japanese effect is due to the iodine or other substances in the seaweed they traditionally also eat (people are of course not like mice whose diet you can vary by just one item and whom you can prevent from also eating chocolate and ice cream!)

There is also the question of whether these ladies were ER positive or negative and whether her2 positive or negative.

Lots and lots more to the story it seems!
