Hi Pink Girl,
My Dr has never said my high BP was caused by arimidex but I now take meds for it daily and although it rose a little with chemo it became steadily worse once I began Arimidex...so I think the answer is yes but maybe someone else knows different?

Pink Girl,
No jokes about chocolate but can I confess that I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries?? Light , dark what ever!! Just put that strawberry in there !! Now to that other question.....have been on Arimidex since Jan. 2005. This past year the BP improved and cut meds in half, the cholesterol down and the EKG improved. So you can control that concern about arimidex. Yep, get a hyper active puppy and walk and walk and walk. Had to increase the rate and distance of my walking to keep that puppy happy ( and tired !) and all that stuff got better. Goodness, dogs really do keep us healthy !!

Pink girl,

High blood pressure is listed as a side effect of Arimidex. My onc discussed this with me. Have been on bp meds since decadron, continuing with Arimidex. Was taking HZTZ, but switched to Lasix recently and have seen vast improvement in joint stiffness.

Treatment with ARIMIDEX (pronounced a-RIM-ih-dex) may cause side effects. In the early breast cancer clinical trial, the most common side effects seen with ARIMIDEX include hot flashes, joint symptoms, weakness, mood changes, pain, sore throat, nausea and vomiting, depression, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, swelling of arms/legs, and headache. Fractures (including fractures of the spine, hip, and wrist) occurred more frequently with ARIMIDEX than with tamoxifen (10% vs 7%).
